Seaworld, Orlando

As we still had the rental car, we decided to check out Seaworld the next day, which is outside "the world" - and we're really glad we did.

It was less crowded that Magic Kingdom, and was focused mainly on the shows - as is the Seaworld back home. For some reason (we never got to the bottom of it) they haven't had a water ski show there for 10 or 11 years, but the dolphin and seal shows were fabulous. And of course "Shamu Rocks" the killer whale show, which had it's own controversy over the death of one of trainers nearly 2 years ago, was spectacular! They put up good competition to Disney.

The seal show featured the greatest lump of blubber of a walrus - but he could dance!

One gimiccy feature at Seaworld was the pearl diving. A buff guy and girl would swim around a tank, waving a kids and posing for photos, waiting for someone to pay "$15.95 + tax" for a genuine pearl in an oyster shell they would collect. Funny thing was, Thomas didn't notice them for ages - the guy spent ages trying to get his attention, and even then Thomas just stared blankly like they were strange fish. A giggle for us!

There were also these amazing net structures, assuming you could tackle your vertigo, it was great fun scrambling up and down, through tunnels etc.
