Cruise Ship "Disney Dream"

The next day, it was we only had time for a quick swim at our resort, before packing up and transferring to Cape Canaveral for our Disney Cruise. Trent and I was tentatively excited about this part of the trip, as we'd heard such great things, but having never been on a cruise before, we didn't know what to expect.

Well, right from the start it was AMAZING!!

The Disney Cruise Line fleet is relatively new, and Disney Dream (our ship) was schmick! The people are ultra friendly and helpful, and the welcome party in the main lobby was stylish and fun! When we set sailed I was feeling nervous about sea sickness and feeling captive in this ship, but that was short-lived as we got into the spirit of things - this was HEAVEN!!

We met Captain Mickey too!

And then checked out the kids club - complete with interactive dance floor, "Andys Room" from Toy Story, many computers, media rooms, craft areas etc. The kids couldn't believe there eyes!

Then it was off to the Royal Palace, one of five restaurants, for a fine-dining experience in a beautiful setting. At this first dinner you meet your Server, and Assistant Server, who stay with you at each restaurant throughout the cruise. I thought this was a little strange at first, but when they remember exactly what the kids eat, don't eat, drink etc, this made for a very relaxing dining experience.

After dinner we met Donald Duck, stopped in at the merchandise shop, and then headed to the upper deck to watch the giant screen by the pools - it plays Disney movies throughout the day, many people watching it from the pool!

Then is was back to our Family Stateroom. For a small space, these rooms were extremely clever  - with bunks coming out of the roof, couch conversions, separating curtain - it felt like a go-go gadget room! The attention to detail was second to none - and it would be all set up while you were at dinner!
