Desert Hot Springs
After spending Monday sorting out the RV, phones, iPad sim, buying up big at Walmart (to make things a bit more comfortable) we headed out to the desert for a hot windy night in the middle of nowhere! Not our best idea - but the RV park did have some cool mineral spa pools.
Joshua Tree National Park
About an hours drive further west took us to the national park focused around the Joshua trees and monzo-granite rock formations. It looked like a movie set - the 40 mile driving loop was a great way to enjoy this very different landscape. We didn't do any hiking, as the nearly 40 degree heat couldn't tempt the kids away from Toy Story 3 on the iPad!
